As another year draws to a close I am taking a look back to some of my favourite images and most memorable encounters from the last 12 months.
The local Mute Swans certainly contributed to a lot of photography this year. It has been a fascinating and insightful experience watching the pair raise their cygnet and being fortunate enough to witness it’s very first precious days as a tiny, vulnerable infant.
This is probably my favourite of all photos of the cygnet. Ugly ducklings? Certainly not!
And of course where the swans were the lone Canada Goose was never too far away…
A close up experience with this delightful wild Robin is certainly an encounter which will stay in my mind for a long time to come.
A little patience and some very obliging House Martins produced by some of my finest photos of 2016.
A combination of fortunate timing and a beautiful backdrop combined to produce these bold and colourful images of a family of Blue Tits who had taken up residence in a yellow gorse bush.
Finally, to end here are some of my favourite individual images of 2016.
