A burst of colour

Who doesn’t love seeing the Daffodils emerge each Spring? These tall, instantly recognisable flowers appear, as if out of nowhere over just a few short weeks, transforming the bare landscape into a carpet of yellow.

Their tall, cheery presence a comforting reminder that the cold, dark days of winter will soon be behind us…

“A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.”

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud – William Wordsworth

Daffodils come in a variety of colours, from the typical uniform yellow to this pale form with a bright orange centre.
