It’s been a long two weeks as we endured a second lockdown here in Wales and as predicted the weather for the first week was pretty dire and miserable, not great for lifting the mood. Fortunately as we entered the second week the weather smiled down on us once more and I was ready and waiting with camera in hand to make the most of it!
With the streets quiet it was a great time to pay a few visits to the pier on Aberystwyth seafront and watch the developments of the nightly starling spectacle. Even since my last visit just a short time ago, numbers have grown noticeably although we are still yet to see their true magnitude.
Whilst busy snapping away, I set my phone to record a time lapse of this particular evening’s gathering for a different perspective.
Best viewed full screen!
Whilst the starlings themselves still remain somewhat underwhelming in the absence of the sky dancing spectacle I always hope to capture, Aberystwyth never fails to deliver a striking backdrop with fabulous sunsets and brilliant skies.
