Her majesty the queen
A queen buff tailed bumblebee warms up on my buddleia bush after getting caught out in an earlier rain shower. She is a giant among our British bees, measuring around two centimetres long with distinctive mustard yellow stripes and a distinctive buff coloured tail which gives her species it’s name. Like her namesake the queen…
