As the seasons change and the residual warmth and vibrant colours of autumn are replaced by the chill and bleakness of winter, these darkening days signal the start of my favourite time of year for photography. The return of Aberystwyth’s famous starling murmurations.
Each winter here in Aberystwyth thousands of starlings gather in huge flocks each evening to roost in the shelter beneath it’s iconic Royal Pier, thrilling crowds with their spectacular sunset displays. I don’t think I will ever tire of watching and photographing this amazing spectacle and I look forward to watch this latest season will bring.
