Making a splash

Feral pigeons are misunderstood and underappreciated birds by many, however if you spend any length of time with them, you will soon learn to appreciate their beauty and unique behaviours,

Unlike many wild birds, pigeons will often let you get very close them, particularly if food is on offer, allowing you an up close and personal view into their lives. This also makes them fascinating subjects for photography.

After filling their crops with the seeds I had to offer, this flock took to the water to engage in some after vigorous bathing. Bathing helps to keep the feathers clean, in good condition and rid the bird of parasites.
